Maintenance Policy

Shanti Memorial College of Education follows a systematic maintenance policy to ensure a safe, clean, functional, and learner-friendly environment for B.Ed. student-teachers, faculty members, and staff. The institution is committed to the regular upkeep of classrooms, teaching-practice facilities, laboratories, library, ICT resources, educational equipment, furniture, electrical systems, sanitation facilities, and other infrastructure required for effective teacher education.

1. B.Ed. Academic Infrastructure Maintenance

The college regularly maintains classrooms, lecture rooms, tutorial spaces, faculty rooms, and other academic facilities to provide a suitable environment for B.Ed. teaching-learning activities, presentations, discussions, and demonstrations.

2. Teaching-Learning Equipment Maintenance

Teaching aids, educational models, charts, laboratory materials, projectors, computers, smart-classroom equipment, and other resources used for B.Ed. pedagogy and practical activities are periodically checked and maintained.

3. ICT & Digital Resource Maintenance

Computers, internet facilities, projectors, digital learning resources, and other ICT equipment are regularly inspected, serviced, and repaired to support ICT-enabled teacher education and digital teaching practices.

4. B.Ed. Laboratory Maintenance

The college ensures the proper maintenance of facilities used for B.Ed. practical and pedagogical activities, including teaching-learning materials, educational psychology resources, language-related resources, and other subject-specific equipment.

5. Library Maintenance

The library is regularly maintained to provide B.Ed. student-teachers and faculty members with access to textbooks, reference books, journals, educational literature, teaching resources, and digital learning materials. Books and other resources are properly organised and preserved.

6. Practice Teaching & Internship Support

Facilities and resources required for B.Ed. practice teaching, school internship, lesson planning, teaching demonstrations, and related practical activities are maintained properly. Teaching aids and materials prepared by student-teachers are also preserved and made available for academic use.

7. Electrical & Safety Maintenance

Electrical installations, lights, fans, computers, projectors, fire-safety arrangements, and other safety-related facilities are regularly inspected to ensure a secure environment for B.Ed. academic and practical activities.

8. Cleanliness & Sanitation

The college maintains regular cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, laboratories, library, offices, washrooms, corridors, and common areas to provide a healthy and hygienic environment for student-teachers and staff.

9. Campus & Environmental Maintenance

The institution ensures the proper upkeep of gardens, open spaces, pathways, waste-management facilities, and other campus areas. Clean and green campus practices are encouraged as part of value-based teacher education.

10. Furniture & Equipment Repair

Damaged or non-functional desks, chairs, cupboards, teaching aids, ICT equipment, laboratory materials, and other institutional resources are repaired or replaced whenever necessary.
